Senior Optometrist

I’m moderately long sighted (hypermetropic) and have been since I was 3 years old. I had to wear an eye patch at school as “lazy eye” runs in our family. The technical name for this is amblyopia.

To correct long-sightedness, lenses are thicker in the middle than at the frame edge. I wanted thinner, lighter lenses so I opted for a high index 1.67 Truform digital lens. My frame is a Cocoa Mint in blue acetate. I liked the shape very much. I usually go for red or black so this is unusual for me but it’s good to ring the changes.

I also wear contact lenses being daily disposables, just occasionally if I’m going out, playing sport or on holiday when I also have a pair of prescription polarised sunglasses.
